I want to create a couple of websites, a personal website and a business website, I am looking for a low buck solution that I can make myself, I have no programming or html skills.
I want it to look nice though… any experience with these online all in one design sites? Which is easiest with the nicest outcome?

I tried the upizaz also, it is incredibly easy. I did my site with flash. It loads fast and looks like I spent $1500 bucks! Only cost Just under $200

I am a Pre-Degree holder, and I would like to be a professional web designer, So, I welcome someones help in this matter.

hi i do professional web sites. you might want to be qualified in Adobe Photo shop and know HTML extremely well, programs like dream weaver are good but put to much code in and makes it hard for changes later. good luck its a hard job to get into and when you do find the work you will pull your hair out. send me a demo of what you have done

I want to be able to stay up to date on all things web design. Articles to read? Sites to visit? I used to be enrolled in web classes so I had teachers that like to share new things, but now I don’t know what to do.

I would like to make an e-commerce website and instead of paying someone thousands of dollars to build it I would like to build it myself. I’ve always wanted to learn web design but I’m already going to college for something else. What do I need to learn to be able to design a great website? What programing languages do I need to learn? Any books that you recommend?

You’d want to take a look at these:

1. HTML and CSS, XML
for your actual web pages– the things that will show stuff to people who visit your website.

For this, I recommend "XHTML Complete" from Sybex, the book covers CSS also.

2. MySQL (or some other SQL variant)
for getting various data in and out of a database.

3. PHP (or another server-side language like Python or Perl)
for interfacing your HTML and CSS with your database/s– getting stuff from a database, like products and the corresponding price, and automatically writing HTML for that stuff.

For 2. and 3., frequent visits to http://www.php.net will be very helpful.

Also, installing a (Apache, Php, MySQL) web server in your computer will be necessary. Don’t worry, it’s just a small thing. I’ve heard good things about this, if you have a Windows box: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

Of course, there are other web servers available out there. But they cost a lot of money.

4. (optional) JavaScript
for adding bells and whistles to your HTML and CSS.

5. (optional) Flash and ActionScript
for more bells and whistles.

On top of your college work, this may seem to be a bit daunting. But hey, I’m self-taught too.

Cheers! :)

I am a graphic designer and I am trying to make a web site for my portfolio. I have designed templates in adobe Illustrator.. what is the next step I need to take? I’ve been reading books about web sites.. but I am lost.. Do I need to export it photoshop and slice into pieces?

The easiest way for a novice to build a web site is to start with a web template. Web Templates can be customized and you can use the layout but swap the graphics etc…. this will get you comfortable with basic HTML design and an HTML editor (like Dreamweaver).

Here are some resources for free or inexpensive templates that are easy to edit and manage.

Webmaster Templates – http://www.webmaster-templates.net
Free Web Templates – http://www.freewebtemplates.com/
Web Design Elements – http://www.webdesign-elements.com
Free Website Templates – http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/
Free Layouts – http://www.freelayouts.com/
Free Templates Online – http://www.freetemplatesonline.com

HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme.

The templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor. The biggest advantage for webmasters using ready-made templates is the amount of time that can be saved.

Web Design Companies?

23.September, 2009

I need a social networking site made. I will need the whole deal (coding, database, etc..)

Can anybody recommend a good web design company?

DIY

basically, i am a student who wants to build an educational pc for myself. i do alot of programming, web page design and word processing.

i know it would be alot cheaper to buy one then build one, but i would like to the experince of building one myself.

so can you recommend me a motherboard and a processor as well as hard drive?

what drive drive can i have that read, copied cd, re-writable cd, cd and cd-roms?

thanks

Recommending a motherboard is kind of like recommending what kind of car to buy – it’s really a personal choice.

For the best prices head on over to www.mwave.com and start putting things together, starting with the left column under "barebone systems", then barebones desktops. Choose either AMD or Intel and start putting the pieces together. Add a hard drive, and if the motherboard doesn’t already have graphics, choose a graphics card that will go with the motherboard (typically PCIe). I would also choose a DVD dual layer burner. These will burn DVDs and CDs. Also get at least a 200GB hard drive.

The motherboard is a personal choice, but at least at mwave, you will know what processor is compatible with it by using the dropdown menus. I would also have them test it before shipping, that way any DOA items can be corrected right away.

how do i use a paypal billing system on my new website.
also how do i let people post stuff on my website

Copy the code from paypal, code it in PHP, or else you may contact a web designer at websites like http://getafreelnacer.com/webdesign.htm
