Hi, I’m learning web design and to learn it I’m creating a web site that I will hopefully publish. I have no ideas for a name though so I’m looking for suggestions. All suggestions are welcome thanks for all help.

If you’re website is somewhat formal, I;d suggest something like "Webmaster: Web Expertise" or something like that.
It it’s a friendly, informal-ish site, then I’d recommend something awesome like "Web Bean." No one can resist a site who’s emblem is a sizzling coffee bean.

What is the best site that you’ve made with HTML? (Hyper Text Markup Language)
What is the best template that you’ve made with CSS? (Cascading Style Sheets)
Can you make collums? (Often popular)
If you use collums, do you use the "float:" function, tables, or "position:" functions? (Float is generally best, tables can be decent, positioning is bad)
What are your best uses with JavaScript?
Can you "swap" images and text with JavaScript? (If not, JavaScript experience is low)
Can you make site searchers?
What is your best client site?

Gaming:
What are your specialties in Java?
What is your best work in Java?
What are your specialties in Flash?
What is your best work in Flash?

Databases, accounts, etc.
Would you rate yourself 1-10, 10 being best, on your pages using PHP?
Can you easily use the "for()" loop? (Can be extremely helpful, if No then user is probably inexperienced)

As I have no experience in asp.net, I can not relate. This is what I would look for, and what is commonly used. Research functions and abilities of these languages to see what you want.

Where can i find good web designer/developer/company that can give assurance the that once the keyword is keyed. The website will guranteed be in the top search list.

I heard it is call SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION.

no one can guarantee top search list results and it would cost you a fortune if it was possible and they always change the algorhythms anyway – you won’t stay on top for long without continued expensive payments to the search engine

So I got this cool idea for selling products to a niche market. However, I don’t know the first thing about website design, HTML, domain names, blah, blah, blah… and I don’t want to pay a web-designer. I want to do this cheap, not necessarily free, but cheap. What is the best site to help me build my page, that will get me into the big 3 (search engines) and get me noticed, so I can sell, sell, sell? A very good site is FreeServers.com. You can get a free subdomain, example: yoursite.freeservers.com, or pay for your own domain, example: yoursite.com through them. Then you design it yourself, or have a webdesigner design it.

I would suggest going to college. While it’s not necessary, it will definitely teach you a lot that you don’t know. Plus most employers won’t even look at your portfolio if you have no degree on your resume’.

But right now I suggest learning as much as you can. Visit design sites, blogs, read books, build sites, learn code, stay on top of all the latest trends in web design and coding.

Find freelance jobs, this way you can get practice dealing with real clients and real jobs.

I am looking at starting a web design firm with some friends and want to follow all the legal procedures. Are they sole proprietorships or corporations? Do I need a business license? What paperwork and other legal things do I need to do? I am totally confused as to where to beginning finding out the step by step process to making my business legal and fully professional and recognized. Any thoughts/opinions/comments in detail would be greatly appreciated. I need to make a website that has a questionnaire on it that users can fill out. The questions need to be of the kind where depending on what your answer is to number one, the second question will be different, and depending on your answer to the second question, the third will be different, etc. Eventually this series of adapting questions will lead to a specific classification.

I see the term "computerized adaptive testing" usually refers to testing designed to assess somebody’s ability or knowledge/skill level, and it does this by classifying a series of questions as easy, medium, difficult, etc, and then quickly establishing what level of question the test taker can consistently get right.

This is not what I am looking for, what I am looking for is much more simple. Essentially just like a choose your own adventure novel. Is there a way of doing this that isn’t going to involve building all the possible answers as separate web pages?

A self-contained test would be ideal. If anyone knows of anything that would be helpful, and preferably free or cheap, then it would be MUCH appreciated.
