We are small Web design company in NY. We are looking to increase our business trough Internet. Please, if you know some techniques or virtual portal where pending projects for web designers available let us know.

Following are some good resources.

Currently I play in the Automotive Paint Sector and own a company called Brushless Colors. I am in the process of selling off the company, not the name, and am merging over into the Web Design sector for a career.

Currently I have Blue Ice Studio as a business name but just don’t seem like I get much enthusiasm over the name when I say it to others.

Which do you like better for a Web Design Company name?

- Blue Ice Studio

- Brushless Colors

Some are just telling me to keep my original name cause it fits the web design part as well. Maybe you have another name that you think might work better….mention it if you would.
I already own both dot coms.

I think web design is chock full of competition these days, and some have a lot of skills in database design and interfacing to back office systems. So this will be challenging.

Yeah, Business Colors may not cut the mustard.

You could just always use your own name, like "Smith Business Designs".

The biggest downside is that there is so much competition online. The negatives can be greatly outweighed by the positives but you really have to set yourself apart from the other million businesses online. There are a few ways to do this:

I wouldn’t advice any. That makes no sense.

Know what? I got a great answer for you. Go to any major bookstore and go to the art/ creative department. They carry a book (it’s thick) that has all the major players involved in Hollywood productions. From catering, to costumes, to producers, directors, the music, websites, lighting, makeup. You’ll find the top names there. You don’t have to buy the book, just take a pen a paper and you’re set. The book includes names and phone numbers of all the people who work for the companies so you can contact people specifically! Good luck.

Well, take some of the websites that you’ve designed, make a portfolio, build your own business website, advsertise and voila! you own a web design company. You may also find it advantageous to incorporate. Business will come when you treat clients well and do good work.
