I have a clothing company and need to sell my products on line, i want an e-commerce website built and designed, with a really good content management system, where i can, once its been designed add my own stuff on to there if i want to, and if i want to change pictures and stuff i can do without having to pay the company who designed it to change it for me. Im also want it to be in the price range of £2500 as the maximum price. Does any one know of any realy good ones? and if so what experience have you had with them and websites to show.

In terms of a Web Applications Developer role, what does “bespoke web applications” mean?
02.November, 2009
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the design, development and maintenance of websites, content management systems, e-commerce and other bespoke web applications.
Bespoke derives from the word "bespeak", meaning "to ask for". Bespoke web applications would refer to web applications designed to the customer’s specifications.
Tailor fit would also be a welcome analogy.
Web applications that are "tailor fitted" to meet the customers needs.
I hope that helps.

e-commerce payment options?
25.October, 2009
what are my options for taking payment from my online store. The web design company have recommended i choose ‘Paypal’, which charges 3.9% per transaction. I will be trading from the UK, are there other less expensive alternatives?
cheers all.
We’ve used Paypal for some time now but found that they do not accept payments in excess of £650 unless the customer has a Paypal account. As a business, this is not satisfactory for us. We’re now in the process of switching to Netbanx. Their transaction fee is less than Paypal’s but they have a minimum rate per month of £20 so, if your transactions are low you have to pay that whatever happens.
If your customers are unlikely to be spending over £650 at a time, Paypal is a good solution. There are other providers who make you wait a long time for your money. With Paypal, your money is moved to your own/business bank account within 5-7 working days. Netbanz is within 14 days, I think, and some of the others take over a month.
Good luck!

Content Ideas For Developing a Web Site For School?
19.October, 2009
I need to design a web site for my e-commerce class. It can be on anything I want, but I’m having a hard time coming up with a good idea that will allow me to produce an interesting, quality finished product. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Here are the only guidelines:
In the technology project each student is expected to design a web site with content of their choice that includes at least the following components:
1. Three or more statically linked pages with requisite navigation functionality to move between them
2. Pages that are generally well designed, user friendly, easy to read and use
3. The ability to store user entered information in a “database”
4. The ability to retrieve data from the “database” and display it based on user entered queries for the data.
