2. Downbeat Movies, Books, and Magazines:

It might sound obvious to recommend avoiding these things, but it’s so easy to overlook how damaging this kind of thing can be. When we’re going through a bad time, we almost seem to subconsciously seek out these kinds of negative forms of entertainment.

They say misery loves company, and you could say that about this.

As with the news on TV, try avoiding these more general downbeat things on TV, in magazines, and in books. Force yourself to stay away from these things for a week or two, and I think you’ll find you do much better without them.
